How does Reverse Osmosis purify my water?
Reverse Osmosis removes a wide variety of contaminants from the water. It is also able to remove dissolved solids from the water which affects the TDS (Total Dissolved Solids). It is essentially the same technology the bottled water companies use but without the micro-plastic contamination using single serve water bottles.
Can I purify rain water with an RO unit? What kind of water can I purify with my RO system?
If you are using rain water, it already has a low dissolved solids rating and you can use Ultrafiltration technology instead. Ultrafiltration is more cost effective in a case like this. For water applications to your entire home, we would recommend using Ultra Violet light purifier to kill pathogens in the water.
My water is really dirty, can a Reverse Osmosis System handle that?
To stop your filters from failing prematurely we would recommend you either use an external 5 micrometer sediment cartridge before the unit or use a Backwashing Depth filtration system which has no filters to change. Very dirty water to your home will also damage clothing as well as water using appliances.
How often do I have to change my filters?
For offices we recommend every 3 months and for homes we recommend every 6 months, there is no charge for technician visits, for filter change labor once your filters are changed on schedule.
Does the unit need electricity to work?
Your unit may be equipped with a booster pump if it is a Reverse Osmosis unit, however the others do not need electricity to function and operates on your incoming line pressure.
How do I know if I need a pump for my Reverse Osmosis unit?
Reverse Osmosis units need pressure to operate properly at least 35 psi, if you don’t have that line pressure you may need to use a Reverse Osmosis system equipped with a booster pump. A good example is if your home has no tank and/or pump or you are only feeding from a gravity fed supply of a tank.
How much space do I need to install a Reverse Osmosis unit under my sink? Can I install it elsewhere?
The best place to install would be under the sink, however, it can be installed adjacent if required. The average space required for a Reverse Osmosis unit would be 12 x 24 inches.
What is the difference between the Reverse Osmosis System and the Ultrafiltration System? Which one should I get?
If you like completely pure water similar to purified bottled water, the suggestion would be to go with Reverse Osmosis. If you like Spring Water Taste with the minerals in the water you should opt for an Ultrafiltration Unit. Reverse Osmosis removes dissolved solids from the water while Ultrafiltration retains the dissolved solids while removing virus and bacteria from the water.
Why do I need a storage tank?
Reverse Osmosis water is produced by squeezing water through a semi-permeable membrane. It is produced slowly and needs a reservoir or tank to hold the water for demand use such as filling a glass or a pitcher.
How much purified water can I get from my Reverse Osmosis Unit?
Our units can produce at 75 Gallons per day, however, that is just production within a 24 hour period. They are not designed for continuous usage at these amounts.
Does it come with a faucet? Can I use my own Faucet?
Our units come with a slim line faucet which is used for your drinking water, it would not be possible to use your regular kitchen faucet to dispense the high quality water produced.
Can I change the filters myself?
It is optional that you can change the filter for yourself, however, it is recommended to purchase a TDS meter when having a Reverse Osmosis system so that you have an accurate gauge of water quality produced from your unit.
My family uses bottled water. Is this less expensive than bottled water?
While the upfront cost may be higher than buying bottled water there are a few things that you will get accustomed too, you will be drinking more water as well as using the water to make juices, coffee and to cook with. The unit may also be connected to the refrigerator unit for purified ice and cold water. You will also have purified water at your fingertips without going to the supermarket.
